[Solved] #1048 - Column 'entry' cannot be null

Post by henk on Sun Dec 26, 2010 6:53 am

Hello all,

First, I thank you for your work. The remote NPC is really fantastic. Now I only have the problem with adding tables. I get the message, # 1048 - Column 'entry'can not be null. I get this from multiple entries (bleats bleats) Could it be that things have changed in the latest mangos revision? Thanks.

I just tested on the latest mangos database
(assuming you got mangos core since you said about the possible change)
and the SQL runs fine to the database.

The error is most likely (by my experience) be caused by your database being "faulty".
The entry column in some table does not have any default value set (may apply to all columns in the table or all tables)

This is fixable by setting a default value, or by recreating the database.

You may also have tried to modify the SQL in a way that may have deleted or othervise disable a part of the SQL script like this:

Code:
SET @TELENPC := 300000; -- # (1)
SET @GOPTION := 30000; -- # (9)
SET @GMENU := @GOPTION; -- # (9) Changes as Goption changes
SET @GSCRIPT := 30000; -- # (130)
SET @NPCTXT := 300000; -- # (5)

note me if you are using some other program than heidiSQL, since it may also cause the problem.

The error can also be caused by your database being too old (older core than this can be used on), but this isnt likely the problem.

Hello Rochet,

I use indeed something else then heidiSQL. I'am using

  • Apache/2.2.16 (Ubuntu)
  • MySQL-client versie: 5.1.49
You think that MySQL is de problem? What i do know is that MySQL does not understand the file format. I have to put the entry's manualy with phpmyadmin.

HeidiSQL is a program used to access the database, just like navicat or phpmyadmin.

What errors exactly?
Atm I know that its just some entry column.

No the MySQL is not the problem, and I still cant figure any other reasons than the ones in my other post above.

Okey, solved this one by using HeidiSQL. phpmyadmin does not understand the format. And that's why he still come back with the errors.

TY, for your help

I just tested and all errors I got were about gossip_scripts being written with a capital G (for mangos with phpmyadmin).

I will try fixing all of the downloads so you can run them on phpmyadmin too.
